Half Hollow Hills West’s 1000 medley relay team, composed of Jarried Redwood, Jamir Blackman, Frederic Fils Aime, and Bryce Johnson, finished in one minute, 57.33 seconds at last weekend's New Balance National Championships, held at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C.

The time is a new state record, breaking Newburgh High School’s 1:58.92, set at last year’s national meet, according to coach Jim Christian.

Redwood, Fils Aime, Ryan Lyte, and Christopher Reyes placed third in the 800 sprint medley relay, finishing in 1:32.63. The time is the fastest in New York State and the
fourth fastest in the country, according to Christian.

Redwood won the Suffolk Division II 100 in 10.87 seconds. Fils Aime won the Division II 400 in 50.38 seconds. Blackman finished second in the DII 400, running a 50.59.
