Oscar-winner Halle Berry and her husband, French actor Olivier Martinez, have welcomed a baby boy.

Berry's representative confirmed the couple's son was born on Saturday but released no other details. People magazine said Berry delivered at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

This is Berry's second child and Martinez's first. Berry, 47, has a daughter, Nahla, 5, with her former partner, model Gabriel Aubrey.

In April, the pregnant Berry told CNN, "This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful."

Berry and Martinez, 47, married July 13 at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France. It was Berry's third marriage, after baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benét, both of which ended in divorce. Berry later lived with Aubry, breaking up in 2010.

She met Martinez in September of that year when they co-starred in the thriller "Dark Tide." The actor, who was born and raised in Paris, is best known to U.S. audiences as adulterous wife Diane Lane's lover in "Unfaithful" (2002), also starring Richard Gere.

This is his first marriage. Martinez lived with actress Juliette Binoche in the mid-1990s, and was with Australian singer Kylie Minogue from 2003 to 2007, including during her battle with breast cancer. He later dated Israeli model and actress Sarai Givati and Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

On Friday, CBS announced Berry would star in the serialized drama "Extant," playing an astronaut who returns home after a yearlong solo mission, having undergone experiences that will affect the course of history. The series is scheduled to premiere next summer.
