Vibrant and aiming at peak.

That sums up the expectation for Long Island's fall foliage this weekend, according to the state's weekly foliage color update on ILoveNY.com.

Look for trees to be sporting bright yellow, gold, orange, red, purple and lime green, says a field observer in East Meadow, with the county projected to see color change of 80 to 90 percent.

Suffolk, at around 75 percent peak, can anticipate brightening orange, red and purple leaves, with golden-colored sea grasses, according to spotters in Riverhead.

Peak color conditions are also expected for areas of the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes, with much of the rest of the state considered to be past peak.

Saturday, also Halloween, is expected to be sunny, with highs in the mid-50s. Following is a cloudier Sunday with highs of around 60, according to the National Weather Service.
