The Hampton Bays Public Library is looking for prom dress donations as part of its first Prom Dress Drive.
Between now and June 14, the teen services department will accept dress donations as part of its first Prom Dress Drive. Young women can begin trying on the dresses starting May 1.
“I know a lot of girls can’t afford to go to prom — the dress, the shoes, the limousine. It can be $300 to $400,” said Theresa Owens, head of teen services.
The library already has collected about 40 dresses through word-of-mouth.
Gently-used or new dresses can be dropped off at the Hampton Bays Public Library, 52 Ponquogue Ave. in Hampton Bays. For more information, call Owens at 631-728-6241, ext. 120 or email theresaowens@juno.com
