Hampton Jitney offers free rides for voters

The Hampton Jitney is offering free trips from New York City to eastern Long Island for registered voters to hit the polls on Nov. 2.

The round-trip service will be offered from Monday, Nov. 1, to Wednesday, Nov. 3, for voters registered in Brookhaven, Southampton, East Hampton, Riverhead, Southold and Shelter Island towns, Hampton Jitney spokeswoman Carly Shephard said.

Shephard said Hampton Jitney offers the service as a convenience for many of its regular customers who have dual residency in the city and on Long Island and are registered to vote on the Island.
