Elmont's Valencia Hannon won the 100-meter dash at the Glenn D. Loucks Games on Friday in a wind-aided time of 11.81 seconds.
It's a school record for Hannon, who shattered her previous mark of 11.87 set at the Federation championship last spring, coach Mike Graham told Newsday.
"She was third out of the blocks," Graham said of the two-time defending 100-meter dash Federation champion. "It was amazing the way she started late and still covered the ground."
The Clemson-bound senior will compete in the 200-meter dash on Saturday.
