Harborfields school district forum tonight on $3M turf proposal

The Harborfields School District will hold a community forum tonight on a proposal to bond $3 million over 15 years for two turf fields at the high school.
The forum, hosted by the district, will be held in the Old Field Middle School auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m.
The project also includes enhanced field accessibility for the physically challenged, upgrades to the grass and baseball fields, and asbestos abatement of floor tiles at the high school.
A forum last month drew tens of dozens of residents questioning the board about the merits of the proposed bond. The vote will be held Dec. 11 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Oldfield Middle School. A simple majority of voters is needed for the proposition to pass.
