Bryce Harper homered off the restaurant in centerfield, Danny Espinosa added a two-run blast and the visiting Washington Nationals beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-2, last night, extending their winning streak to five games.

Jhonatan Solano added his first career homer as the Nationals improved to 6-2 in interleague play.

The Nationals' five-game winning streak matches a season best. The Nationals also won five straight from April 10-14.

Jose Bautista hit a two-run shot, but the Blue Jays lost for the fifth time in six games and dropped to .500 at 31-31. The Blue Jays have not been below .500 at any point this season.

Harper posted his second straight three-hit game, finishing 3-for-4. He singled in the first, homered in the third, grounded into a fielder's choice in the fifth and reached on a bunt single in the eighth. Harper has reached safely in eight of his past 10 plate appearances.

Chien-Ming Wang (2-2) earned his first victory as a starter this season in his third attempt, allowing two runs and four hits in five innings.

Twins 11, Phillies 7: Trevor Plouffe had a homer, a double and three RBIs to lead host Minnesota. Ben Revere and Jamey Carroll each had three hits and two RBIs and Josh Willingham also homered for the Twins, who have won 10 of 13 games.

The injury-plagued Philadelphia fell to 29-34, 9 1/2 games behind Washington in the NL East.

Red Sox 2, Marlins 1: Clay Buchholz (7-2) allowed five hits and struck out a season-hight nine in seven innings as he outpitched Mark Buehrle (5-7) and visiting Boston ended a four-game losing streak.

The game was scoreless until Kelly Shoppach hit an RBI double in the seventh inning and came home on a single by Mike Aviles.

Orioles 8, Pirates 6: Brian Roberts returned from a 13-month layoff to get three hits and an RBI and host Baltimore homered three times.

Reds 7, Indians 1: Johnny Cueto (7-3) pitched his second complete game of the season, allowing only one runner to reach second base, to lead and host Cincinnati in the opener of their intrastate series.

Rangers 9, D-backs 1: Colby Lewis (5-1) retired the first 16 batters and finished with a four-hitter, leading the host Texas.

Arizona's Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-3, ending his career-high 17-game hitting streak that was the longest active string in the NL.
