The Hauppauge Industrial Association's 2011 Rookie of the Year has actually been around for a while.

At its annual Business Achievement Awards Gala Luncheon at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury Tuesday, the HIA named Islandia-based Island Pro Digital, which produces business cards, displays for trade shows, digital videos and audio productions, as its Rookie of the Year. The 3-year-old company is now making more than $2 million in annual sales and has 14 employees, said president Kurt Kubik. Kubik and his son, Kyle Kubik, the vice president, were "grilled" by an HIA team before winning the award, Kyle said. "They did not make it easy," he added.

Amneal Pharmaceuticals Llc of Hauppauge, a maker of generic drugs, won the Largest Business Achievement Award for increasing its revenue from $63 million in 2008 to $211 million in 2010.
