Hawks fans 11, scores winning run for Shoreham-Wading River

Chelsea Hawks struck out 11 in an 11-inning three-hitter and Shoreham-Wading River topped Rocky Point, 1-0, in Suffolk League VI softball Monday.

Hailey Tilton singled home Hawks for the winning run in the top of the 11th. Alex Hutchins turned a double play off a popped bunt to end a Rocky Point threat in the 10th.

Miller Place 19, Glenn 6: Tori Carlo struck out nine in a 5 1/3-inning no-hitter and Sara Battey went 5-for-5 with four runs and two RBIs for Miller Place in League VI.

Sachem North 14, Floyd 1: Senior Jen Daniello tossed a five-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts in League I. Niki Nevola went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and eighth-grader Nicole O'Donnell went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Kellenberg 11, St. John the Baptist 1: Susan Pardo threw a five-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and had a home run and two RBIs in CHSAA. Lauren Trepeta had two hits and four RBIs in the win.

Islip 2, Huntington 0: Vanessa Juengerkes struck out 11 in a three-hitter and Faith Ladano was 2-for-2 with an RBI in League V.North Shore 3, Division 0: Senior Lexi Marshall struck out a career-high 20 in a four-hitter to lift North Shore in non-league. Christina Castiglione had a sac bunt to score Caroline Robinson in the first and tripled home two more in the sixth.

Mepham 5, Bethpage 4: Alexis Ferrero scored Christine Rizzacasa with a sac fly in the top of the seventh for Mepham in non-league. Ferrero also hit a two-run single in the top of the fifth to give the Pirates a 3-2 lead.

Our Lady of Mercy 7, St. Dominic 6: Julia Felicione singled home Anna Petrucci in the bottom of the seventh to lift Our Lady of Mercy (1-1) in CHSAA.

BASEBALL

Oyster Bay 8, Division 7: Blake Meyer scored on an RBI groundout by Cody Exum in the bottom of the eighth to win it for Oyster Bay in non-league. Mike Maloney had a homer and four RBIs in the win.

Patchogue-Medford 17, Commack 4: Matt Vogel had two three-run homers to lift Patchogue-Medford in League I.

Ward Melville 2, Longwood 0: Anthony Padrazo's two-run single in the bottom of the fifth scored Billy Theiss and Dan O'Neil to lift Ward Melville in League I. Joe Flynn struck out four, walked two and gave up three hits in five innings.

Shoreham-Wading River 6, Mount Sinai 3: Mike O'Reilly allowed two earned runs and struck out 14 in a three-hitter, Drew Sperruzzi went 2-for-3 with a home run and Danny Luppens had two hits and two RBIs to lead Shoreham-Wading River in League VII.
