Residents of Nassau County’s 10th Legislative District today can receive free blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose screenings, among other services, at a health fair in Great Neck.
Legis. Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) and the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group are sponsoring the event; screenings are available only to residents 18 and older. The fair will be held at the Great Neck House, 14 Arrandale Ave., between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
In addition to the screenings, residents can have their body mass indexes calculated and receive flu shots — which cost $20 or can be paid for by an active Medicare Part B plan. Health and government organizations, such as the American Red Cross and the Long Island Power Authority, will be in attendance, and Whole Foods will offer refreshments.
