BACKGROUND: Voutsinas, 40, of Freeport, is running for the Independence and Green Party lines in the primary. She has been a judge in the Nassau County Court, Second District, since 2011. Before that, she was a principal law clerk to Nassau County Court Judge Steven Jaeger from 2004-2010. She was an assistant town attorney for the Town of North Hempstead from 2001-2003, and deputy majority counsel to the Nassau County Legislature in 2003. She was in private practice from 1999 to 2001. She received her bachelor's degree from St. John's University in 1996, and got her law degree from St John's University School of Law in 1999. She was admitted to the New York state bar in 2000. She is a member of the Nassau County Women's Bar Association, the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
