State Sen. Kemp Hannon (R-Garden City) announced that the New York State Department of Financial Services will send representatives to Levittown Tuesday to assist residents and business owners with insurance-related issues stemming from damage caused by superstorm Sandy.

The department’s mobile command center will be in the Levittown Mews Shopping Center, 3335 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents and business owners who need assistance with their insurance coverage will be able to speak individually with a financial services department representative, who would be able to contact insurers.

Individuals who are unable to visit the help center but need assistance can call the department’s storm assistance consumer helpline at 1-800-339-1759, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
