State Department of Financial Services representatives will be in Farmingdale today until 5 p.m. to take questions from residents about insurance issues relating to superstorm Sandy, according to state Sen. Kemp Hannon (R-Garden City).
A mobile command center will be at Farmingdale Public Library, 116 Merritts Rd., to help homeowners, renters and business owners with contacting their insurance companies if they haven’t been able to reach them, Hannon said.
The Department of Financial Services’ mobile command center was made available by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, Hannon said.
Those unable to visit the van during the available hours can call the department’s storm hotline at 800-339-1759 or visit its website at dfs.ny.gov.
