Hempstead Town will host its annual Health and Wellness Fair for senior-citizen residents on Thursday, June 16.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lido Beach Town Park, on Lido Boulevard. It is sponsored by the Town of Hempstead in cooperation with Franklin Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Nassau University Medical Center, South Nassau Communities Hospital and Winthrop-University Hospital.

Free services on offer include PSA testing; blood pressure, hearing, chiropractic, dental, podiatry, cholesterol and blood-glucose screenings, and posture/spinal analysis. Guest lecturers will give presentations on various health topics, and vendors will provide information on health-related and financial services available to senior citizens.

Senior citizens can register for the town’s Vial of Life program, which includes a health care proxy and emergency health care information.

The town will provide free transportation from each of its 16 senior centers, and free parking is available at the park. Residents should take their own lunch.

For more information, call the town's Department of Senior Enrichment at 516-485-8100.
