Hempstead meets on mall zoning for Roosevelt Field expansion

Hempstead’s Town board is meeting Tuesday morning about a proposed zoning change that would allow Roosevelt Field mall to expand. Critics say the move would significantly impact traffic, air quality and noise and endanger pedestrians. Hempstead reporter Aisha al-Muslim is sending updates from the meeting.
