Hempstead OKs bamboo ban, other ordinances

The Hempstead Town Board approved laws today at its meeting banning the growing of bamboo, reducing unreasonable glare from spotlights in residential areas and prohibiting “surfing board"-type commercial sign structures. Aisha Al-Muslim is sending Twitter updates from the meeting.
