Half Hollow Hills East quarterback R.J. Nitti, who passed for more than 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns in seven games, will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury suffered in last weekend’s game against Lindenhurst.
Nitti, a senior, is being recruited by several colleges for a football scholarship and is hopeful of making a full recovery.
His father, John, told Newsday that R.J. will likely miss the Hills East basketball season as well.
