Hispanic Task Force to offer workshop
The Town of Huntington Hispanic Task Force will host a workshop Friday to discuss domestic violence issues in the immigrant community.
The “Raising Happy and Healthy Families” workshop, which will be held in English and Spanish, will include discussions on how to protect the family’s emotional health and where to seek counseling and legal assistance when an abusive relationship exists.
“We know that there are people who suffer through family situations in silence because they don’t know where to get help,” said María Teresa Quirk, the task force’s co-chairwoman.
The free event will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the office of the Porter-Trejo Action Network, 1599 New York Ave.
