Historic sites across Long Island
The National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places lists nearly 400 sites across Long Island as special places that need to be preserved.
From Sagamore Hill, the home of President Theodore Roosevelt, to Sagtikos Manor in West Bay Shore, which dates back to 1697 and was occupied as local British headquarters during the Revolutionary War, these locations embody Long Island’s rich history.
This map details the locations of Long Island’s sites on the National Register. Some spots have photos and videos, while others need some of the blanks filled in.
