Hofstra kicks off Earth Week celebrations
Hofstra University kicks off campus Earth Week celebrations Wednesday with a free lecture on the environmental challenges of suburbia from Robert Brinkmann, the school's newly appointed director of sustainability studies.
The talk — “Gaseous, Green and Gated: Sustainability in the Suburbs” — is scheduled for 2:55 p.m. at the student center on the north campus.
Brinkmann, now a geography professor at the University of South Florida in Tampa, will join Hofstra’s faculty next fall to develop undergraduate and graduate programs in sustainability studies.
