Ten Hofstra University students are among volunteers helping Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano’s Economic Recovery Task Force aid businesses hurt by superstorm Sandy.

Bankers from JP Morgan Chase and TD Bank, and accountants from the firm Deloitte & Touche, are among the volunteers assisting the 12-person task force aimed at streamlining federal government processes needed to get businesses suffering Sandy damage up and running again.

Hofstra has established a call center, from which the students from the university’s Zarb School of Business are reaching out to businesses in the flood-zone ZIP codes to let them know about various aid programs available.

The county’s business recovery center is handling all incoming calls (516-571-1745) and emails (leads@nassauida.org).

“Nassau County is extremely grateful for the efforts of our volunteers as we work together to rebuild our local economy,” Mangano said Tuesday in a news release.
