The Village of Lindenhurst is allowing free parking for holiday shoppers.
On Monday, the village began covering its meters, allowing shoppers two hours of free parking. The meters will remain covered until Jan. 3.
However, parking in one area of the village will still require payment: The meters on East Hoffman Avenue between Smith Street and the western entrance to Waldbaum’s will remain uncovered and operational, the village said.
