Holy Trinity wins NSCHSAA championship
Holy Trinity defeated St. John the Baptist, 3-1, this afternoon in Game 2 of the NSCHSAA championship series to get the sweep. Sophomore lefthander Alexander Robinson went six innings and allowed three hits, walked five -- one intentional -- and struck out 10. Richard Van Allen III, the MVP of the championship series, came into the seventh after Robinson walked the first two batters and allowed a run scoring single. But with runners on second and third and none out, he retired the next three batters for his seventh save.
Holy Trinity (20-6) scored three in the top of the seventh. The first run came on an error and Peter August hit an RBI triple and scored on a throwing error to make it 3-0. It's the first championship for the Titans since 2003.
