Hope for moderates in Arab nations

Kudos to Frida Ghitis for making some very astute points about how the recent political unrest in Arab countries could affect Israel and its enemies ["Winds of change blow chance for peace," Opinion, March 22].
Too many people have the delusional belief that if Israel gave up all the disputed territory and created a Palestinian state, all the problems in the Middle East would be solved. The extremist regimes and terrorist groups would continue to support the destruction of Israel and the murder of innocent Israelis, like Ruth and Udi Fogel, who along with their three young children were brutally killed in their West Bank home on March 11.
We can only hope and pray that as these regimes fall, a more moderate and peace-seeking Arab world will emerge, and that they will recognize that they are better off making peace rather than continuing their pursuit of a Middle East without a Jewish state.
