John Horowitz had 20 points, including five three-pointers, as Islip topped Lindenhurst, 70-55, in the first round of the East Islip tournament Wednesday.

Horowitz had three first-half three-pointers and helped Islip take a 36-19 lead at the break.

David Powell added 14 points and 10 assists and Andrew Oberg added seven points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks. Islip will play the winner of East Islip/West Islip game Saturday at 5 p.m.

Floral Park 74, Sewanhaka 57: Shamoy McIntosh scored 14 of his 30 points during a 30-5 first quarter and Justin Wilson added 24 points for Floral Park in non-league.Syosset 63, Herricks 59: Chris Park had 19 points, seven rebounds and a steal to lead Syosset in non-league. Mohmmad Kassamali had 14 points and six rebounds. Andrew Fellus scored 26 points for Herricks.Portledge 47, Kew Forest 33: Zach Pilson had a game-high 17 points, including four during a 17-0 third quarter for Portledge in IPPSAL. Pilson added three assists and six steals, Nick Lobley chipped in 12 points, and Niyah Highsmith finished with eight points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Miller Place 53, Smithtown East 36: Senior Marlaina Sherman had her first career triple-double with 21 points, 20 rebounds and 10 blocks to lead Miller Place in non-league. Brea Greene added 12 points, eight assists and six steals and Deanna Molinelli had 10 points, seven assists and four steals.Valley Stream North 52, Lawrence 41: Madeline Nelson scored a game-high 28 points with three assists and Jillian Sarro had six points and seven rebounds to lead Valley Stream North in non-league. Nicole Robinson has 20 points for Lawrence.

Mineola 48, Jericho 40: Kerri Medlock had 21 points and 16 rebounds and Kalie Medlock added 10 points and seven rebounds for Mineola in non-league.BOYS BOWLING

Commack 2, Smithtown 1: Junior Greg Reed shot a 300 in Game 3 of a 775 series for Smithtown in the loss. Reed shot a 267 in Game 2 and a 208 in Game 1. Commack, however, prevailed, 1059-1024, 936-1097, 1077-1065.

Sayville 2, Central Islip 0: Chris Beni rolled a 296 in Game 3 of a 719 series for Sayville in a 966-966, 964-929, 1020-977 win.Chaminade 3, Kellenberg 0: Andrew Fenn rolled a 235 in Game 3 of a 688 series to lead Chaminade in a 1093-1014, 1264-892, 1098-905 win.
