Horowitz leads Islip over Lindenhurst

John Horowitz had 20 points, including five three-pointers, as Islip topped Lindenhurst, 70-55, in the first round of the East Islip tournament Wednesday.

Horowitz had three first-half three-pointers and helped Islip take a 36-19 lead at the break.

David Powell added 14 points and 10 assists and Andrew Oberg added seven points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks. Islip will play the winner of East Islip/West Islip game Saturday at 5 p.m.

Floral Park 74, Sewanhaka 57: Shamoy McIntosh scored 14 of his 30 points during a 30-5 first quarter and Justin Wilson added 24 points for Floral Park in non-league.Syosset 63, Herricks 59: Chris Park had 19 points, seven rebounds and a steal to lead Syosset in non-league.
