How popular are New York Knicks license plates?

We all know sports fan like to flaunt their fandom through as many merchandise channels as possible. That's especially true when, say, their team is the championship series for the first time in 27 years.
Such expressions of fandom have a more permanent feel than wearing some team gear (and less permanent than getting a tattoo). Like, for example, put a Knicks-themed (and state-sanctioned) New York license plate on your car.
According to DMV, there are 673 Knicks license plates registered in New York State, which ranks them 11th in the state among such sports-themed plate.
Among the 31 sports-themed license plates available for purchase are past team championship wins. Might the Knicks get such treatment if they beat the Spurs in the NBA Finals? Who knows, but you can try to request one here.
