How to customize Windows desktop icons
Everyone likes to arrange their desktops to their own preferences; this can include the number of icons that appear, but also their size. If you think you'd like your icons smaller or larger, here's how to change them in Windows 7 or 8.
1 For standardized sizes, right click on your desktop and select View. From the drop down menu, you can select to make your icons small, medium or large.
2 While you have the View menu open, check for other options. For example, if you want your wallpaper to be pristine without any file and/or icon, unclick Show desktop icons.
3 If you are not satisfied with any of the standardized icon sizes, you can customize the size instead. While on your desktop, hold down the Ctrl key and move the scroll wheel on your mouse up or down until you find a size icon you like.
