Electronics become outdated quickly. But how do you safely dispose of old cell phones, computers and cameras? There's a new website that connects you with buyers of used electronics, as well as providing places where you can recycle.

1. Go to ecosquid.com. In the search box enter the product name, brand or model name of the item you want to dispose of. If you get "0" results, try rewording, e.g. instead of Dell PC try Dell computer, or use the "Find gadget by category" drop-down menu.

2. A list of options will be displayed, including buyers (if there are any), charitable organizations that accept your item as a tax-deductible donation, free recyclers, as well as places that charge minimal fees to recycle your electronics.

3. No registration is necessary, but if you do choose to register, you can rate and review the site's partners. In the future, EcoSquid plans to expand services so members can register products to receive trade-in value alerts and run a forum.
