June is low-cost spay/neuter month in the Town of Huntington. Town board member Mark Cuthbertson is again sponsoring the annual discount to help stem overpopulation created by unwanted litters of dogs and cats in the town.

“We want to encourage people to spay or neuter their pets because it really is an important component of good pet health care,” Cuthbertson said. “And it can be a cost-saving measure in the long run in terms of veterinary bills.”

He added this special offer might help a dog to live a longer and healthier life.

Town residents can sign up for $50 spay/neuter vouchers for their dogs and cats. Services will be provided at the North Shore Veterinary Hospital on Route 25A in Northport.

For more information or to receive a voucher, contact the town’s animal shelter at 106 Deposit Rd. in East Northport or call 631-754-8722.
