The Town of Huntington is one step closer to having an updated parking ticket management system.
The town board unanimously approved a resolution at its Dec. 10 meeting authorizing the supervisor to execute a three-year contract with Maryland-based Brekford Corporation for the system, equipment and services.
Town spokesman A.J. Carter said Brekford will supply hand-held, electronic ticketing machines and will also manage the tracking of scofflaws and sending out past-due notices.
Carter said Brekford will replace the current vendor and that it will be paid on a sliding scale based on the tickets issued.
The resolution also allows the contract to be extended for two additional one-year periods, according to town documents.
