Nick Hutchinson had four goals and an assist as host St. Mary's topped Monsignor Farrell, 11-1, Tuesday in the CHSAA Metropolitan Class A boys lacrosse final.

It's the second metropolitan championship in three years for St. Mary's (15-5), which avenged a 7-6 regular-season loss to the Staten Island school.

Kelsy Medina added three goals, Tim Ahern chipped in a goal and three assists, Billy Meed finished with two scores and an assist and Brendan Gallagher had a goal and an assist for St. Mary's.

St. Mary's defenseman Connor McNamara played a huge role as he helped limit Farrell's top scorer Mark Rini to one goal.

Rini had scored twice in Farrell's regular-season win.

Gaels goalie Matt Atwell also made his presence felt with 15 saves.

"They are pumped. They are still on the field celebrating," said St. Mary's coach Matt Panetta. "It feels great to get this win. Our defense came up really big today."
