'Idol' castoff Pia debuts new single
Pia Toscano may have been prematurely kicked off "American Idol" last season, but after hearing her first single, we think she'll have a lasting career in the music world. The 22-year-old singer debuted her new song, "This Time," on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show Monday -- and it's super catchy! Written by Ester Dean (who's best known for hits like "S&M," "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name), "This Time" is a song about a girl who's ready to take her life back after what sounds to be a nasty, never-ending breakup. It's Pia's first single since signing onto Jimmy Lovine's label, Interscope Records, and will be released on iTunes Tuesday.
Style-savvy Rihanna has landed a new gig: She's been tapped to be the face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans, the Italian fashion house announced Monday. The singer will appear in ads for the fall-winter 2011-12 collections, which will debut in September. Armani has a long roster of celeb alum.
