In Smithtown, new docks, canoe service coming

At Thursday evening’s Smithtown town board meeting, the following resolutions were approved for:
*Advertising for bids to purchase replacement floating docks at the Kings Park Bluffs as well as canoe livery service at the Bluffs.
*Parade-Walk-Run permits for Greater Long Island Run Club, Nesconset Athletic Association, Smithtown Rotary Club, St. Patrick’s Day and Kings Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

*A negative environmental determination for an applicaton for site plan approval for All-County Burger Corp. for a Checkers restaurant.
*The purchase of four pick-up trucks from Ford of Smithtown.
*Partial refunds to property owners affected by groundwater flooding as part of the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Project in Lake Ronkonkoma.
*The expansion of the In-Home Services for the Elderly Program.
*An agreement with CSEA to add part-time maintenance mechanic position.
*The town also held a short hearing on repealing a town law which prohibits the digging of worms from the Nissequogue River area. A vote will be held at a later meeting.
