High school homecomings are filled with special moments -- parades, bonfires, pep rallies, dances, football games. Then there's the signature event: the crowning of the king and queen.

In September and October, newsday.com will visit dozens of Long Island schools to chronicle the action, but we want you to get in on the act, too. We’re asking everyone who shares homecoming photos via Instagram or Twitter to include the hashtag #LIHomecoming with their posts. We’ll share some of the best pictures in our “High School Homecomings Across Long Island” photo gallery.

Also, we’re accepting photo submissions by email at litowns@newsday.com. Include the name of the school and who is in the photos. Most importantly, have a great time!
