Islandia synagogue invites military families
An Islandia synagogue is opening its holiday services to military personnel and their families.

Synagogue leaders said the invitation was inspired by the federal government’s “Joining Forces” campaign, which encourages citizens to provide support for service members and their families.
“Every day, America’s military families make remarkable sacrifices for our freedom and safety,” Chavurat Emet chairman Arthur Podwall said in a news release. “That’s why it’s so important for us to take the time to give something back.”
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, will be celebrated
Services will be at the Sheraton Long Island hotel on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. For information, call 631-724-7640.
