Olga Murray is the endorsed Conservative-GOP candidate for Islip town clerk, town Conservative Party Chairman Mike Torres said Wednesday.

Murray, 49, a Conservative, is former director of Islip’s Foreign Trade Zone.

She is an attorney who works with her husband, Mark, an active GOP committee member, at their West Sayville law firm.

She defeated retired NYPD detective Bill Menendez and Pierce Cohalan, a former town attorney.

Conservatives and Republicans re-screened for a town clerk candidate after incumbent Regina Duffy announced she would not seek re-election.

Duffy was one of five candidates endorsed last month on a joint Republican-Conservative ticket.

Murray joins fellow Conservative Anthony Senft on the ticket. Senft is running for one of the two town board positions.

Republicans Tom Croci (challenging incumbent Democrat Phil Nolan for town supervisor), John Cochrane Jr. (town board member) and Alexis Weik (receiver of taxes) fill out the ticket.

The Islip town Democratic Party will formally announce its candidates tonight.
