At its May 5 meeting, the Islip Zoning Board of Appeals:

Bay Shore: Granted Thomas and Loretta Heron II permission to build a one-story addition with building separation of 4 feet and floor-area ratio of 26.9 percent, south side of Howells Road,

west of Gail Street.

At its May 25 meeting, the Islip Zoning Board of Appeals:

Bayport: Denied Robert and Ellen Shinnick permission to build a second-story addition and a roofed-over porch with insufficient side yard and floor-area ratio, west side of East Road, north of Midway Court.

Brentwood: Granted 1738 Brentwood Corp. permission to retain a roofed-over and unroofed deck, expanding nonconforming use by less than 25 percent, southwest corner of Brentwood Road and South Fifth Avenue.
