Jackson expects Knicks to compete next season
Carmelo Anthony can become a free agent in less than a month and the Knicks don't own a pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, but president Phil Jackson doesn't think it matters.
Amid all the uncertainty, he expects the Knicks, who won just 37 games last season, to compete next season.
"There should be ample opportunity for this team to come back into competition next year," Jackson said, according to ESPN.
Although the popular perception is that the Knicks will have to tread water until the summer of 2015, when stars such as Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo can become free agents, Jackson doesn't want to wait to win. --
