Knicks president Phil Jackson was fined $25,000 for tampering with Thunder point guard Derek Fisher, the NBA announced yesterday.

Jackson told reporters last week that Fisher was "on my list of guys that could be very good candidates" to fill the Knicks' vacant head coaching position, which violated league rules since Fisher was still playing at the time.

Fisher was just eliminated from the postseason on Saturday night, and Jackson is scheduled to speak with him later this week about the job, according to ESPN.
