Ward Melville is 3-0 for the first time since 1977 after a 42-18 win over Central Islip yesterday in Suffolk I football. Jake Biro passed for 182 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 118 yards with two touchdowns for Ward Melville.

Brendan Hegarty had 16 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns and had two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Tirelli had four catches for 65 yards and a score and Brendan Dooley had four receptions for 62 yards.

Matt Corrie had 13 tackles and Brendan Simpson had an interception. Central Islip is 0-3.

Sachem North 51, Patchogue-Medford 14: Trent Crossan rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries to lead Sachem North (3-0). Kevin Bragaglia had 128 yards on five carries and scored two touchdowns and Kevin Lathan rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on six carries and also had a 10-yard touchdown reception.

Sachem North totaled 407 yards of offense. Tyler Andreassi had 12 tackles, Lathan added six tackles and three sacks and Bragaglia had an interception and four tackles. Junior Bryan Morris kicked the 100th extra-point of his career. Patchogue-Medford is 1-2.

Floyd 45, Brentwood 0: Quarterback A.J. Otranto connected with Vantrell Nash for three touchdowns for Floyd (2-1). Nash had seven receptions for 198 yards and scored on touchdown receptions of 50, 25 and 44 yards. Otranto completed 9 of 13 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns. Chris Winters had a sack and a fumble recovery, Pat Walsh had a fumble recovery and C.J. Banks had an interception. Brentwood is 0-3.

Northport 34, Half Hollow Hills East 7: Cody Swing had six carries for 103 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown run, to lead Northport (1-2). Northport rushed for 305 yards on 34 carries. Sean Gilroy was 3-for3 for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Half Hollow Hills East is 1-2.
