The formerly bald Jason Alexander who played George Costanza on the long-running sitcom "Seinfeld," has a new head of hair.

He acknowledged his new look on Twitter first with a joke.

"Lots of you talking my new hair," he tweeted Sept. 25. "Hard to tell from pics but it was made to look like a guy losing hair. I think of it as a touch of rouge."

He later posted a longer tweet with a link to a letter he wrote explaining his new, hairier look.

"What you see on my head is a really good, semi-permanent hairpiece," Alexander wrote. "By semi-permanent I mean that I can wear it constantly for weeks at a time, if I so choose."

He said in the letter than people should expect to see him "more often than not" with his new hair.

But this may be an adjustment for "Seinfeld" fans who are used to their bald George Costanza.

Alexander's baldness was the topic of several "Seinfeld" episodes while the series ran between 1989 and 1998.

His character tried to wear a toupee in one episode and tries to grow his hair using a cream imported from China in another.

To fans critical of his new look, he has a simple message:

"It's honestly no big deal for me and hope it's not for you either."
