Jason Brooks, January Scholar Artist

Jason Brooks, a senior at George W. Hewlett High School, is active in the music department. As a bassist and cellist, Jason currently performs with the Chamber Orchestra, the Jazz Ensemble and the Pit Orchestra.

Throughout his high school career, Jason has demonstrated his leadership capabilities by serving as President in the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Captain of the Math and Robotics Team, and News and Online Editor for Spectrum, the high school newspaper. Jason’s determination for academic accomplishment is exemplified by his regular participation in the National Fed Challenge and the Euro Challenge Competition. Honored to have been selected as a 2011-2012 Scholar Artist, Jason anticipates pursuing his various musical endeavors when he attends college next year.
