Jay-Z is opener at Barclays Center
Jay-Z expects Brooklyn to go hard. The Bed-Stuy native is planning three concerts to christen the new, 19,000-seat Barclays Center in Brooklyn, also the home of the Brooklyn Nets, the NBA team he co-owns, Newsday's Glenn Gamboa reports. Tickets for the shows on Sept. 28, 29 and 30 go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday. A pre-sale for American Express cardholders will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Organizers say more than 7,000 of the seats will be less than $30. "Jay-Z is Brooklyn and is the definitive artist to open Barclays Center," Barclays Center chief executive Brett Yormark said in a statement. "We are thrilled that such an iconic world-class entertainer, not to mention a Brooklynite, will take the borough's biggest stage on three consecutive nights for what will surely be a historic experience for all fans."
