Jenkins leads Amityville to quarterfinal win

Senior forward Janiece Jenkins had 17 points, including the 1,000th of her career, as third-seeded Amityville beat No. 6 Westhampton, 68-41, Saturday in a Suffolk Class A girls quarterfinal.

Jenkins reached the milestone in the first half as the Warriors (11-4) raced to a 32-19 lead. Raven Price had 21 points and Marshae Sterling chipped in 14 for Amityville.

Kristen Polan had 18 points for Westhampton (11-8).

Amityville visits No. 2 Harborfields in a semifinal on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Hampton Bays 63, Mattituck 44: Senior Theresa Carey had 16 points and also scored the 1,000th of her career on a foul shot in the third quarter for No. 2 Hampton Bays (15-4) in a Suffolk Class B semifinal. Alexis Fotopolous had 22 points and Andrea Tufano added 10 points for Hampton Bays. Lauren Guja had 10 points for No. 3 Mattituck. Hampton Bays will play No. 1 Southampton in the final on Tuesday at St. Joseph's College at 8:30 p.m.Southampton 46, Center Moriches 33: Paris Hodges had 15 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead No. 1 Southampton (16-3) in a Class B semifinal. Noel Hodges added 13 points, Cassidy Guida scored 11 and Kesi Goree had five points and eight rebounds.

Shoreham-Wading River 47, Islip 42: Courtney Clasen had 13 points, seven steals, five assists and two blocks to lead No. 4 Shoreham-Wading River (12-7) in a Class A quarterfinal. Shannon Rosati added 10 points, six rebounds and five steals, and Meghan King had nine points and 19 rebounds in the win. Shannon Duer had 15 points and 21 rebounds for fifth-seeded Islip. The Wildcats will visit No. 1 Glenn for a semifinal on Wednesday.
