What happened with Damien Woody?

The Jets' starting right tackle, who's nursing a sprained right MCL, was out there for the first two series but was forced to take a seat after his knee locked up on him. He was replaced by reserve Wayne Hunter and didn't return. Woody has an MRI scheduled for Monday to assess the damage and said he'll have a better idea of what's going on.

"I don't regret what I did, in hindsight," Woody said. "If I can go out there and play, I can go out there and play. But it's just more of a thing now where we'll just go in there and see if we can find more answers and then come up with the best strategy coming forward."

Why wasn't the Jets' running game, which accumulated only 87 yards on 31 carries, more effective? Did the Dolphins do anything the Jets hadn't already seen to throw them off up front?

"No, no," center Nick Mangold said. "It was all pretty much stuff we knew going in what they'd show. It wasn't any new big wrinkles or anything . . . It was mainly the base front. They've got good guys down there. That's a good defense. We didn't execute."

Did the Dolphins say anything about the Jets trying to run the ball with little success?

"I like how you said 'trying,' '' Miami defensive end Kendall Langford said. "They kept trying to run the ball and they weren't successful with that. At the end of the day, they got a loss."

Were the Dolphins bothered that the Jets elected to receive after winning the toss, just as Rex Ryan said he would?

"We look at that kind of like a spit in the face," Langford said. "It's very disrespectful toward us and we went out there with the mentality that we would bash them, and that's what we did."

Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall caught only two passes, one for a 6-yard touchdown. What was the Jets' plan with him?

"I had him the whole entire game except when we went to bigger personnel," cornerback Antonio Cromartie said. "I would go to the tight end side and [Darrelle] Revis would take him. But other than that, I think I did a fairly good job on him. When we were in zone and he went into the slot, of course, I didn't take him then. But I think we did a great job."

Was the Jets' defense bummed out that they played so well and still lost?

"It hurts regardless," Jason Taylor said. "They all --. We obviously didn't play good enough defensively. We had chances to make interceptions and maybe pick up a ball and score on defense. We had other chances and we didn't take advantage. You can point to the things you think you did well, but there are things you did pretty poorly, and it could've helped out the offense a little more."

Did Taylor say anything about that near-interception he almost recorded on former teammate Chad Henne in the first half?

"I didn't catch the ball," Taylor said. "I need to catch it and I've done it for a long time. I've got to make a play there. It's as simple as that."

Any injuries of note other than Woody's?

Trevor Pryce (hip), Shonn Greene (neck) and Eric Smith (concussion) got banged up and will be re-evaluated today.
