Job seekers will have a chance to meet with potential employers during a free job and career fair at Nassau Community College on Thursday.

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the College Center Building, near Davis Avenue and East Road in Garden City. The event is hosted by Nassau County Legis. Kevan Abrahams (D-Freeport), Glory House Inc. and Town of Hempstead Department of Occupational Resources at HempsteadWorks.

Businesses and franchises will interview and accept résumés from interested attendees. There also will be a 90-minute workshop on how to improve your résumé, as well as chances to speak with business owners and representatives.

There also will be a veteran’s job fair and resource service support component for businesses looking to hire vets. All attendees are encouraged to bring their résumés.

There is still space available for interested businesses, vendors and franchises. It is free to sign up; participating employers will be provided with a table and two chairs, officials said.
