Several hundred people are expected to attend a job fair Thursday at the eastern campus of Suffolk County Community College.

At least 20 businesses will be represented, several of which will be conducting interviews on the spot, according to Assemb. Daniel Losquadro (R-Shoreham), above, who is organizing the event along with the Suffolk County Department of Labor and the college.

“People should bring their resumes and dress appropriately,” LoSquadro said.

The job fair is one of about two dozen scheduled this year by the labor department, many of which are being held in local public libraries in western Suffolk.

The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Peconic building on the campus at 121 Speonk-Riverhead Rd. in Riverhead.

Companies scheduled to participate in the event include Stop & Shop, Utopia Home Care, Tri-County Home Nursing Services and FedEx. A full list of participating employers, as well as locations of other job fairs planned for this year, can be found at suffolkcountyny.gov/labor.
