MUSIC: Lute and harp duo
WHAT You don't get a chance to hear the lute played everyday. Unless you're lutist Christopher Morrongiello. Bayard Cutting Arboretum's winter concert series continues with a Morrongiello and Young Sunday matinee, cofeaturing Marcia Young on harp, in a recital of amorous early-music tunes. The harp adds an angelic quality to the lusty lute, a stringed instrument from Medieval Europe that remained popular through the late Baroque period and into the Renaissance with its romantically secular appeal. England most famous redhead, Elizabeth I, is said to have favored the lute.
