Democratic County Court Judge Barbara Kahn has a place in the Republican-Democratic judicial cross-endorsement deal reached last week. But she'll move down, to the new Suffolk Family Court judgeship created by the State Legislature last month.

That means the GOP judicial nominees, Brookhaven Town Board member Tim Mazzei and District Court Judge Philip Goglas, will be cross-endorsed for the county court spots they are seeking.

Meanwhile, Nassau Republicans have nominated, for that county's new family court judgeship, Conservative Thomas Rademaker of Sea Cliff, who is law secretary to Court of Claims Judge Philip Grella. Candidate petitions for the new county court spot must be filed by Thursday.-- Rick Brand
